Dörte Gatermann decided together with 7 other jurors over the award for the “Deutschen Architekturpreises 2011” (German Architecture Prize 2011) as well as additional honorable distinctions and commendations. The German Architecture Prize 2011 was festively celebrated in Dresden’s Albertinum on the 13.10.2011 as Federal Minister Dr. Peter Ramsauer and President of the Bundesarchitektenkammer (German Architecture Association) Sigurd Trommer formally awarded the prize to David Chipperfield for the “Neue Museum in Berlin”. Since 1977 this prestigious prize is awarded every two years.

Between october 5th and 21st, 2011 the "Bundesanstalt für Immoblienaufgaben" presents the results of the competition (ÖPP-Vergabeverfahrens) "Neubau des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung" (Federal Ministry of Education and Research). The exhibition takes place in the Kronprinzenpalais, Unter den Linden 3a, 10117 Berlin.

Late September 2011 and after 17-month construction, new build „Baufeld 10“ in Colognes port district ‚Zollhafen 22‘ has been completed and handed over from client “moderne Stadt Gesellschaft zur Förderung des Städtebaues und der Gemeindeentwicklung mbH” to the primary tenant BDO. This October the auditing firm will move into its new quarters in the very prominent marina setting. The sculptural building form with its sharp façade confidently takes its place between the two southern ‘crane-houses’.

After beeing nominated for the final stage of the Piranesi Prix de Rome, Alfred Schelenz will present the project Roman Museum to the international jury on august 31.st 2011 in Rome. The winner among the last 15 projects will be nominated september 1st. The international price selects the architectural design that is at the forefront of contemporary solutions, focusing on the principle of archaeological heritage.
